About Us
Cindy Thom
Cindy is currently the Assistant Head of Early Childhood and Lower School at New Canaan Country School. She has been a learning specialist at NCCS for 14 years. Previously she worked with Special Education in Rye, NY and spent 8 years as a classroom teacher at Rye Country Day and The Spence School. As a certified Responsive Classroom educator, Cindy has led professional development for building strong learning communities in schools. Cindy has worked privately over the years with many students and families through tutoring and consulting.
Lacey Ramsey
Lacey is currently a learning specialist at New Canaan Country School, where she has worked with kids from kindergarten through eighth grade. She is also the Director of the Apprentice Teacher Training Program. Before this, Lacey taught at Eagle Hill School in Greenwich, where she supported students with language-based learning disabilities, and prior to that, she was a classroom teacher in the New York City Department of Education. She has worked as an instructional coach with teachers throughout Manhattan and Westchester. Lacey is an associate level certified Orton-Gillingham practitioner. In addition to a master's degree in special education, she has an advanced certification in Dyslexia and the Science of Reading. Throughout her years as an educator, Lacey has privately tutored students of all ages.

Both Cindy and Lacey have also been trained in Restorative Practices through School Climate Consultants and National Educators for Restorative Practices.
